The over 8,000 Oregon State fans who attended last Friday night’s Spring game saw good drives by both Sean Mannion and Cody Vaz. Vaz ended his with a 1 yard scoring TD by Terron Ward. Mannion, on the other hand, got all the way inside the 5 yard line on a longer drive only to give it all up with a costly and wasteful interception in the end zone. Many who believe Sean is the better option must be wondering if Sean has truly learned enough of the lessons of smart football and avoiding the mistakes that turn momentum. Mannion seems like he is the better option but will he continue to have multiple turnover games no matter what other aspects he is executing well? Listening to Vaz and Mannion in these interviews, it is clear there is an ongoing competition to push each other. However, is it really benefiting the Beavers or more just leaving the team in limbo?
