Oregon State will play Texas in Alamo Bowl

Update: Oregon State was selected to play the Texas Longhorns in the 20th Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on December 29th.  The bowl is the only postseason game that features two teams with Top 20 Strength of Schedules.  Texas at #11 in SOS and OSU ast #13.  Oregon State’s premier matchup with one of the biggest names in college football was helped by BCS Buster Northern Illinois who finished #15 in the BCS Rankings.  OSU also helped themselves alot and made the decision much easier by being far and ahead the highest ranked team being considered and currently at #13 in the BCS.  This game very nearly rivals the Fiesta Bowl game of 2001.  Win this game and the program is highly likely to see Reser Phase 3 built within the next few years. Regardless, recruiting and national exposure will take significant leaps forward and the timing is great for the rebranding effort coming this spring.  If all goes right, Oregon State will be a media darling again next year and a rising high profile program poised to continue to make serious waves in the national college football landscape.
